Brown hauled in two touchdowns, one of which was a one-handed grab, which all but likely secures his spot on the Cowboys roster in 2026.
The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Seattle Seahawks 17-7 at Lumen Field in their first preseason outing, and this might be known as the Camden Brown game.
Having made plays consistently all preseason, all eyes were on the wide receiver in Seattle to see if he could maintain the rage.
Making plays in practice is one thing, but making them in preseason is another thing entirely, and Brown, well, his stock has skyrocketed up.
Camden hauled in a 39-yard touchdown from Sam Howell to end the first half as he had to fight to secure the catch.
But he wasn't done there.
In the third quarter, as Joe Milton and the Cowboys got the ball to start the half, Dallas marched all the way down the field, and it ended with a Milton pass to Brown, who secured the catch one-handed to give the Cowboys a 17-7 lead.
Three receptions for 62 yards and 2 TDs isn't a bad outing for Brown, as he has continued making plays all throughout the preseason.
Now, he is likely not only to have secured his roster spot, but there is also a chance he could be WR5 after his efforts in Seattle.
"When the ball is in the air, it's mine," said the 6-3, 205-pound rookie. "That's always been a mindset, from Georgia Southern and Auburn, and just having that mentality, because I feel like just playing football in general is having the right mentality."
Preseason games are where the true evaluation can take place, because of the crowd and the pressure of a game-like situation, and there is no denying that Brown passed with flying colors.
The big question is how the coaching staff will view it in terms of the roster projection, because Brown has shown everything he put on film in Oxnard, and then in Seattle.
So many times we see players have superb camps (Traeshon Holden last year), but then vanish when the preseason rolls around?
Brown didn't do that.
He has increased his chances of making the roster to the point where it would now be incredibly difficult for the coaching staff not to put him on it.
Now, how the next couple of weeks play out will be interesting in terms of how much Brown will play in the two preseason games, but based off of what we saw in Seattle, his roster spot might be as good as secured.
Snagging two touchdown passes will do that.
Still ...
"I don't feel complacent," he said. "I wake up with an edge, and show gratitude. ... Every single day to play the game. I love it. ... It's a privilege."
