Cowboys' Brian Schottenheimer Attacks Trevon Diggs Situation With Update cover image

The Trevon Diggs situation with the Cowboys is one of the most interesting stories going on right now.

It seems like every day, we have a new thread to pull in Trevon Diggs' awkward situation with the Dallas Cowboys.

Diggs stated he was healthy enough to play before Sunday night's loss against the Minnesota Vikings. Then Jerry Jones stated post-game he wasn't. Then Diggs himself spoke post-game that he doesn't know what else he can do to play.

Yeah, it is all odd.

With still three games to go, there is a scenario where Trevon does play in 2025, but also - given what our Mike Fisher predicts is a coming divorce based on a mutual lack of trust'' - there is a scenario in which he's completely done here.

If he isn't activated off IR this week, he won't be allowed to play again this year because he wouldn't have been moved during his 21-day window.

That will tell a tale, if it goes down that way.

And now we have info from head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who was asked on Monday if there had been any miscommunication between the Cowboys and Trevon over him playing.

"Trevon and I sat down, and we had a very detailed conversation on Saturday," Schottenheimer said. "I told him not only the reasons why, but also the standards and expectations. So, again, I'm always going to have real conversations. I would never not play a player and not explain to them why they weren't going to play.

"I know he feels like he's ready, but in our long conversation, I thought I made it very clear, so I'll leave it at that."

And while Diggs said he was healthy enough to play, and others have said he had a good week of practice, our man Fisher again offers his take on the situation.

"Tried to tell you, the trust and the faith is broken," Fish said on the relationship between Dallas and Diggs. "Somebody reported he had a good week of practice. No, he didn't. He did not have a good week of practice. He did not have a good Wednesday. That's how specific I can be about it."

So, this saga between Diggs and Dallas doesn't appear to be slowing down, and with Trevon's activation window closing, we're about to see how serious the Cowboys are about their stance with the All-Pro.
