One of the big question marks hanging over the Dallas Cowboys entering the 2025 season was how Brian Schottenheimer would fare as head coach.
In his first job in the big chair, Schottenheimer was also the offensive play-caller. Some thought that for a rookie head coach, that would be too much.
It wasn't.
Dallas had one of the best offenses in football under Schottenheimer.
Dak Prescott (4,552 yards, 30 TDs, 10 INTs), Javonte Williams (1,201 rushing yards, 11 TDs), George Pickens (1,429 yards, 9 TDs), and Lamb (1,077 yards, 3 TDs) all had their moments in the sun.
We know about the defensive play, which was horrific, and we also know that in the last month of the season, the offense stalled out in the second half of games.
But overall, there's no denying that Schottenheimer's Cowboys were one of the best offenses in football, averaging 27.7 points per game.
And Lamb agrees.
"I love Schotty, he's a team player, he's receiver-friendly," Lamb said on the Ross Tucker Football podcast. "The offense is everything that a receiver wants. If you see what Dak, GP and I did this year, we had a great year. Then we had Javonte just toting the ball this year, and that was amazing.
"Our offensive core, I feel, is extremely young. I think Dak is the oldest on the offense now. So, for him to get everybody on board and understand what he's trying to do here and us to really execute in Year 1, I feel I can't really even put it into words. You just look at the numbers."
The Cowboys' offense was the straw that stirred the team's drink.
With the defense struggling to stop anyone, it forced the offense to be perfect for Dallas to win games, and that isn't a winning recipe.
But when the defense did pull its weight, the Cowboys managed to beat the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in consecutive weeks.
Entering the offseason knowing the defense needed a complete overhaul, the offense has largely been left alone, with Sam Howell and Matt Hennessy signed.
Lamb loves the offense under Schottenheimer, and it is easy to see why, given how potent it was in Year 1.
What can we expect in Year 2?
Cowboys Nation hopes more of the same.
