Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb has been in the headlines since his drop-filled performance in the stunning 24-21 win over the Eagles.
Lamb caught four of his 11 targets for 75 yards, as Dak Prescott often looked in No. 88's direction, including what would have been a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter that Lamb couldn't hold in.
That meant a total of three drops of catchable balls.
Being an All-Pro and having caught 540 passes in his NFL career, CeeDee is no stranger to making big grabs, but already with eight drops on the season, one more than he had in 15 games last season, Lamb is looking at a career-high in that category.
Luckily, he knows how to fix his problem as the Kansas City Chiefs come into view for Thanksgiving.
“Just find ways to get better, you want to be solution-oriented and not really dwell on the problem,” Lamb said. “Granted, we know the problem, I need to catch the (expletive) ball.''
Well, yes. That would do it.
Added Lamb: "Other than that, man, we'll be fine. When I do catch it, just be ready.”
So CeeDee has confidence in his ability, and so he should, but some sections of Cowboys Nation have turned a little sour on No. 88, maybe due to the ridiculously positive emergence of George Pickens this season.
For some, GP is already the Cowboys' best offensive weapon, despite Lamb being on the field. So in the minds of some critics, CeeDee needs to take a backseat as Dallas rides the hot hand.
But the truth is, ideally, the pair of pals feed off each other.
Pickens wouldn't likely be the player he is if Lamb wasn't helping dictate coverage when he's on the field, so you can't have one at his very best without the presence of the other.
As a duo, they complement each other, and let's not forget, CeeDee still had 11 targets against the Eagles, so Dak Prescott still trusted Lamb despite those drops.
Lamb knows the problem, and he knows the solution.
Catch that damn ball.
