All offseason has been for this moment, as Parker unveils his new-look defense against the Giants.
The time is nearly here for the new Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, Christian Parker, to unveil his scheme to the NFL world.
Having overseen a huge overhaul both on and off the field, the Cowboys' defense has been getting a lot of plaudits from every corner of the NFL space, but that all counts for nothing as the players take the field at MetLife Stadium against the New York Giants on Sunday night.
We have an idea of what Parker will throw at the Giants as a disciple of Vic Fangio, but Parker has said this will be his defense, so New York will face a lot of new things it can't prepare for.
But after such a long offseason, that began back at OTAs, through the grind of training camp, and now gearing up for the first game of the season, the time has come.
How is Parker feeling?
"I'm pretty excited," Parker said. "We've been working hard for this moment to get this thing officially started. It's been a lot of time on task and work put in conversations, the practices, the walkthroughs, just everything kind of gearing up towards the start of the season. So, I would say that's the main emotion for us."
With the Cowboys' defense set to be vastly improved on the unit we saw last season, Parker has often referred to learning his defense as a master's program.
A full offseason to not only learn it, but to master it, the Cowboys have a lot to show and prove against the Giants.
But where does Parker see his group in term of getting their masters?
"I think it's fair to say, graduation days on Sunday night," he added.
Many are unsure of what to make of the Cowboys' defense right now, as with so many new faces, it will take time to mesh and work well.
Plus, Parker is a first-time coordinator and play-caller, so naturally there are going to be growing pains and fans hope that doesn't result in losses that should have been wins.
All offseason has been geared towards this moment, on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium, where Parker's defense graduates.
Into what? We wait with anticipation.
