The Cowboys will face a proper dual-threat quarterback in Week 1, and Clark knows what the defense must do to curtail him.

All eyes will be on the revamped Dallas Cowboys defense at MetLife Stadium in Week 1 as the New York Giants get first crack at Christian Parker's defense.

With the changes both on and off the field, fans and media alike are bullish on what the Cowboys can do in 2026; Parker does have some high expectations to reach.

After having the league's worst defense last season, we will get a good look at Parker's unit as it tries to stop the Giants' quarterback Jaxon Dart and their offense.

A little reckless at times running the ball, Dart is a dangerous threat with the ball in his hands, and if a play breaks down, he isn't afraid to take off and pick up yards with his legs.

One player who will be tasked with curbing his influence is defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

The veteran will be a key piece of Parker's unit in 2026, and he knows exactly what the group has to do against Dart.

"Yeah, tough quarterback to go against," Clark said of Dart. "He can throw the ball really well, and the biggest thing is just making sure our rush lanes are clear. Got to do a good job at containing him because he can get out the pocket and make some, great plays on his feet. So, got to do a good job of containing him for sure."

So, the plan is clear. Keep Dart contained.

But with so many new faces on defense, communication will have to be on point, as this will be the first game they play together.

There has been a lot of roster turnover on the defensive side, but Clark is ready to get rolling with this new group.

"Yeah, we got a lot of new guys, and I'm excited to work with all of them," he added. "It's been a long offseason, happy to get back to this point healthy and ready to go."

It has been a long offseason, but now proper football is on Dallas' doorstep.

For all the talk of Parker's new defense and what it could potentially look like, we don't have to wait too long to see it play out in real time.

With the Giants getting first crack at trying to handle what Christian is cooking up.
