With the Dallas Cowboys essentially out of playoff contention as we enter Week 16, the conversation between sitting star players and letting young players get snaps has begun.
Our own Mike Fisher calls it "Organic Tanking," © but the organization's message this week has been consistent.
It isn't interested.
Brian Schottenheimer shut down the idea of Joe Milton playing this season, and owner Jerry Jones stated the importance of these final three games to the franchise.
And here comes Dak Prescott, who left no doubt regarding his feelings on sitting out the rest of the season.
"Being a professional, this is my job," Dak said. "This is what I love to do. Sitting out last year and the times before, you don’t take this game for granted. You play every game to win. You play every game with a chance to go to the playoffs and play in the Super Bowl.
“Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. If that’s not the case when we take the field or whatever it may be, I’m thankful for the opportunity to play this game and I’m not going to ever pass it up.”
So, Dak isn't interested in sitting, and I'd imagine the rest of the locker room feels the same.

Granted, All-Pro corner DaRon Bland is now likely out for the season with a foot injury and could have surgery to fix it as he likely heads to Injured Reserve.
Would Bland have played this week if the Cowboys were still a genuine shot at the playoffs? That, my friends, is a great question.
Given that he played last week, and well mind you, that does have an "Organic Tanking" © feel to it.
Still, the message from the Cowboys has been consistent all week. They aren't interested in sitting star players.
And Dak has made it clear he isn't interested in it, either.
