Cowboys' Dak Prescott Offers 3-Word Hope For NFC East Title & Playoffs

The Cowboys, despite playing poor football this season, are still alive in the race for the NFC East.

The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Lincoln Financial Field to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night with Brian Schottenheimer's team at a crucial point in their season.

After two poor losses, the pitchforks are out for the Cowboys and their head coach, and tensions are rising around Cowboys Nation ahead of the Eagles matchup.

With the Eagles' injury issues with no Jalen Hurts or De'Vonta Smith, and Saquon Barkley questionable, many are of the thought that this has to be a game Dallas wins.

It doesn't matter how you do it or what it looks like, a win is the only item on the menu.

Given the state of the NFC East after six weeks, Dallas, at 2-4, is right behind the 3-2-1 New York Giants, is level with the Eagles, and the Washington Commanders prop up the division with a 1-4-1 record.

Receiver CeeDee Lamb has taken a "why not us" mentality toward winning the division, and Dak Prescott offered the same thought, but isn't getting caught looking too far ahead.

"We've just got to focus on this one right now, one at a time," Dak said. "Can't get ahead and to me it's not even really about looking at what even what our division is doing, we understand where everybody is, that it is wide open to CeeDee's point. Why not us? I mean, it's right there in front of us for us to take.

"We still play every team in the division, a couple of them twice, right? We've got to take it one at a time, and we've got to get every win that we can, and this is the most important one because it's now, we've just dropped two. Can't drop another one."

And Dak is right. Dallas can't drop another game.

Especially this one against a banged-up Eagles team that has Tanner McKee as their quarterback, because if the Cowboys were to lose to this Eagles team, well, the aftermath wouldn't be for the faint-hearted.

It has been back-to-back bad weeks for the Cowboys, but the football gods have smiled on them a touch ahead of the Eagles clash, with the division still up for grabs to anyone who wants to take it.

The Cowboys have that chance on Monday night.

Time will tell if they are up to the task.
