The Dallas Cowboys, one could argue, have a good group of top-quality players.
Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, George Pickens, Javonte Williams, and so on.
But what about those further down the depth chart?
We know that not everyone can be an All-Pro and make the highlight reel every week.
Sometimes, players who do the dirty work, and those who, when their number is called, produce.
And that can be the difference between teams winning and losing.
For the Cowboys, our own Mike Fisher has revealed that one of those players is fullback/running back/tight end/receiver/special-teamer Hunter Luepke.
"Whatever Hunter Luepke does as a ball carrier, and it might not be much, this team wants to never let him go,” Fish said. “They view him that way ... I'm not talking about athleticism necessarily, but we can make a list of who are the really good football players around here.
"Inside that building, coaching department, scouting department. It might shock you. They put Hunter Luepke on that list of who are our best really good football players. He's on it.”
We do know that Brian Schottenheimer loves him some Hunter Luepke.
A jack-of-all-trades, Schotty loves his players to be multiple, and Luepke has played running back, fullback, and even tight end for Schottenheimer.
When Hunter is in the game, more often than not, he's productive. Whatever the team asks him to do, he does it.
But Hunter isn't the only one.
There's another underrated guy who his making noise inside The Star.
“You know who's coming, and they can say all the nice things they want about Schoony [Luke Schoonmaker], and they paid Jake [Ferguson], but you know who's coming on? Brevyn Spann-Ford," Fish added.
“Not everybody's going to be Bijan Robinson. Somebody's got to be your best football player, glue guy, and the Cowboys think they have two of them. Definitely Hunter Luepke and maybe Brevyn Spann-Ford."
Spann-Ford recorded 20 special-teams tackles to lead Dallas, finishing sixth in the entire NFL. Luepke totaled 12 tackles on special teams in addition to all the things he does on offense.
So, the Cowboys have found their ultimate "glue guys," and with the 6-1, 240-pound Luepke and the 6-7, 270-pound Spann-Ford both succeeding with their chances this season, it is easy to see why Dallas is so high on the pair.
They aren't household names, they won't make the highlight reels on Monday, but when their number is called, they make good things happen for their team.
Fish is right. Not everyone can be a Bijan. Or a CeeDee Lamb or a Dak Prescott or a George Pickens.
But a glue guy? That's important, too.
