Ex-Cowboys defensive lineman Trysten Hill faces charges of assaulting a pregnant person and interfering with an emergency request.
FRISCO - Former Dallas Cowboys player Trysten Hill was arrested late last week on charges of assaulting a pregnant person and interfering with an emergency request for assistance, according to Ellis County jail records.
Hill was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie about 2:30 p.m. on March 26 with a bail amount set at $3,500.
The charge is a disturbing one. To some, so is Hill's mug shot, as he is pictured grinning after his arrest.
From Fox 4 News in Dallas: “Jail records show Hill has been charged with assault of a pregnant person and interfering with an emergency request for assistance.''
And there is more.
"The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said Hill was arrested for two bond forfeiture warrants stemming from a 2025 criminal investigation.''
The 6-3, 310-pound Hill was a second-round pick by the Cowboys in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Central Florida product lasted four seasons in Dallas but is considered a bust.
He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2024, after he bounced from the Cardinals to the Browns to the Patriots and to the Colts.
Hill, who just turned 28, finished his career with just 70 tackles in three seasons to go with six sacks.
The Cowboys - desperate for defensive line help at the time and confident in a personal relationship then top Dallas assistant Rod Marinelli had developed with him - used the No. 58 overall pick on Hill despite knowing about his conflicts with his college coaching staff.
