The Cowboys added another corner, with Florida Gator Devin Moore being selected in the fourth round.
The Dallas Cowboys continued the defensive theme in the NFL Draft, taking Florida Gator Devin Moore with the No. 114 overall pick.
Given the defensive needs, both for starters and rotational/depth pieces, a move for Moore made sense.
The Cowboys needed depth, and for a player like Moore, he's going to come to The Star and not be content with being a backup; he's going to want to start.
Of course, given the players in front of him, that looks like a tall order, but Moore isn't short on confidence as he is now a member of the Cowboys.
Per ESPN's Todd Archer, on a call with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Moore said: "You're getting the best corner in the draft."
So, that is quite the incredible claim, and time will tell if Moore can live up to his lofty expectations, and when training camp rolls around, we'll get a better idea of how Moore fits into Christian Parker's scheme.
Injuries have been a concern for Moore throughout his college career; he has not played more than seven games in his first three years, but he played 11 last season, so that will be something to monitor.
After all, Jerry stated he didn't want any "redshirts," so Dallas must be comfortable with his health.
Seen by scouts to be a physical player contesting catches, plus being a fluid and smooth mover, Moore is good in coverage.
But perhaps the biggest tick I can see from evaluators is that Devin is disciplined in press-man, which is something the Cowboys will value.
Oh, and at 6-3? He's got "traits'' in the biggest of ways.
Coming off back-to-back seasons with multiple interceptions, Moore now comes to a Cowboys secondary that is vastly reshaped compared to a season ago.
Now part of a secondary that boasts DaRon Bland, Cobie Durant, Shavon Revel Jr., and Caelen Carson, Moore is going to look to make a name for himself, and being selected by a former Gator in coach Brian Schottenheimer, Devin is ready to get rolling in Dallas.
"It's everything and more, to be able to get picked by such a prestigious organization, and it's America's Team," Moore said in an interview with Kyle Youmans of dallascowboys.com.
The hard work has just begun for Moore, and there's no doubt that if he can hit the ground running this offseason, there are those who think he could see the field early in 2026.
