The Cowboys have a lot of money tied up in Kenny Clark, Osa Odighizuwa, and Quinnen Williams, but Jerry Jones knows he's got room to move if needed.

The Dallas Cowboys' salary cap situation has been a troubled aspect of the offseason.

With many citing that the Cowboys will be over the cap (no such thing), and that it will severely impact their ability to spend in free agency, that couldn't be further from the truth.

We have spoken at length on how the Cowboys can flip a switch on several contracts, most notably Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, to free up cap space and push it into future years.

With those two alone, Dallas will open up nearly $50 million, and thus, won't be in "cap hell" as some think.

The big issue for some this offseason is that the Cowboys have a lot of money tied up in the contracts of Kenny Clark, Osa Odighizuwa, and Quinnen Williams, with the trio set to count roughly $60 million against the cap.

But owner Jerry Jones isn't expecting that at all.

"All of those players have a long future relative to their careers with us," Jerry said. "Those three interior guys, to the extent there is room to keep them and make room and not sit there and not use that room to get them help on defense.

"I'm not going to do that. [We] will make their contracts friendly to us being able to get them help on defense in free agency if we have the opportunity."

So let's walk through it quickly.

Restructures on Clark ($9.6 million), Williams ($14.5 million), and Osa ($12 million) will create $36.1 million in cap space per Over The Cap.

That goes with the restructures of Dak and CeeDee, and suddenly, we are at nearly $100 million in cap space. We haven't even talked about the potential restructure of Tyler Smith's contract either.

Ideally, the Cowboys won't want to have to push a lot of money into future years, but with a handful of contracts giving Dallas the ability to be spenders in free agency, it is no wonder fans are excited.

Keeping all three linemen and adding pieces around them should give the defense more juice than last season.

And it is clear that Jerry intends to flip the switch on Kenny, Osa, and Quinnen, and give Parker more ammunition to overhaul his defense this offseason.

Into free agency we go, my friends. ... with no "cap hell'' involved.
