The Dallas Cowboys are picking themselves up off the canvas after their loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 14, and as we turn our attention to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, reinforcements could be on the way.
Trevon Diggs, Tyler Guyton, and Jadeveon Clowney are all in the mix to return in Week 15, but for the trio to be able to hit the field, they've got to practice at The Star this week.
But can we expect all three to be on the field to tune up for Minnesota?
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer gave an upbeat response.
"Yeah, we'll see,” Schottenheimer said. “I think Diggs should be good to go with practice and then, we'll find out a little bit more over the next 48 hours with Guyton and Clowney."
Aren't we forgetting someone?
Oh, that's right.
CeeDee Lamb is also a key watch this week as the All-Pro goes through concussion protocol, having hit his head hard in the third quarter before being ruled out straight away in Thursday night's loss.
So, how is CeeDee progressing?
"Yeah, he's doing good," Schottenheimer added. "Talked to him over the weekend. He's doing good. He's progressing nicely and again, hopefully things all work out like uh we expect."
So, all signs appear to be positive for the Cowboys and their injured quartet.
But Cowboys COO Stephen Jones went a step further on 105.3 The Fan when talking about Lamb.
"He’s meeting all the thresholds that you need to meet that will get him to where he can play this week," Jones said. "So far he’s had no setbacks.”
Given the state of Dallas' season, to have Diggs, Guyton, Clowney, and Lamb all back for Week 15 is good for the soul, and yes, the Lions loss could prove to be the one that breaks Dallas' season, but a wildcard spot was never really in its grasp.
The division, on the other hand, might be, depending on how results go, but Dallas is getting healthy at the time of year you want to be firing on all cylinders.
So, all eyes will be on the key quartet at The Star this week as the Cowboys load up for what looms to be a huge NFC showdown with Minnesota.
