The Cowboys are largely running it back on offense, after a 2025 season that saw them enter the elite category, but will that remain in 2026?

Brian Schottenheimer's offense for the Dallas Cowboys was the big plus from a disappointing 2025 season.

Dak Prescott had a Pro Bowl season, throwing for 4,552 yards, 30 TDs, and 10 interceptions, while CeeDee Lamb (1,077 yards, 3 TDs), George Pickens (1,429 yards, 9 TDs), and Jake Ferguson (600 yards, 8 TDs) all had their moments in the sun.

Javonte Williams and what would be a top-10 run game were a driving force, with Williams posting 1,201 yards and 11 TDs as the Dallas rushing attack was finally productive.

Now, as we turn to 2026, the only key loss if you want to call it that was Jalen Tolbert.

Otherwise, it's as you were for the offense, with Tyler Booker, Pickens, and Williams all getting another full offseason of work under Schottenheimer.

It is fair to assume that the Cowboys will once again have one of the best offenses in football, providing the injury bug stays away, and Schottenheimer's new wrinkles in his offensive game plan hit.

Last season, most saw the Cowboys' offense as elite, and it is easy to see why.

Dallas was second in the NFL in total offense, seventh in points for, second in passing yards, and ninth in rushing yards.

So, as we enter 2026, do the Cowboys have the best offense in football?

Well, for Fox Sports' Ben Arthur, they're close, coming in at No. 2 behind the Los Angeles Rams in his top-10 offenses list for the 2026 season.

"The Cowboys return 10 starters from an offense that ranked second in yards and seventh in points in 2025," Arthur wrote. "Franchise-tagged star receiver George Pickens will be in his second year in the offense, which could make him even more difficult to account for as CeeDee Lamb’s running mate.

"And with a more competent defense on paper, Dallas’ offense could see more possessions per game in 2026."

The fact that this Cowboys offense could get more possessions if Christian Parker's defense makes some stops gives this Dallas team a scary feel to it.

Yes, this is all a projection, and we haven't even had a single training camp practice yet, but what many are projecting for both sides of the ball should encourage fans.

Of course, we've been here before, so tapping the brakes on all of the hype is a good move because we know how quickly things can change in the NFL.

Given all of the questions surrounding the Cowboys in 2026, few are aimed at the offense and Schottenheimer, as the unit will once again be tasked with being the dominant force.

If, and that's a big if, Parker's defense, led by Caleb Downs, can become competent, then who knows what's in store for Dallas in 2026.

And having the second-best offense in football is a great place to start.
