Both Milton and Howell got a front-row seat to Camden Brown's two-touchdown day, but neither is the least bit surprised.
There is no denying that the biggest winner to come out of the Dallas Cowboys' 17-7 win over the Seattle Seahawks was receiver Camden Brown.
Having three receptions for 62 yards and 2 TDs, Brown was easily the one who grabbed our attention. Plus, his 39-yard touchdown grab from Sam Howell and his one-handed touchdown snag from Joe Milton further put him on everyone's radar.
Having been a steady player in Oxnard, making plays daily, the big key was to see if Brown and the other players on the roster could translate that onto the field with real bullets flying.
Well, Brown did, and his chances of making the roster have risen, whether that's as WR5 or elsewhere. Of course, he has to keep producing, but his stock is trending upward.
Milton spoke on what has impressed him the most about Brown this offseason.
"A lot, I don't know where to start with that guy," Milton said. "But Cam is a great person, great kid, just someone that loves to learn, someone that literally asks questions every day. He's one that if he don't know it, he will ask. So that's probably my biggest thing on Cam for sure."
Usually, we see in preseason games a receiver have a better connection with one quarterback than the others, but Camden managed to be on the same wavelength with both Milton and Howell in Seattle.
While Milton's pass to Brown was sublime, so too was the one-handed catch; it was Camden's chemistry with Howell that got things started for the Cowboys in Seattle.
A nice double move as the first half was winding down, Howell dialed up the launch codes and hit Brown for a 39-yard touchdown, a reception Brown had to fight the Seattle defender for all the way to the ground.
And Brown making plays isn't the least bit surprising for Howell.
"He's been having a really good camp," Howell said. "I love throwing to him. Joe loves throwing to him. Cam has been a great player, he gets open, and when you throw it to him, he catches it. He works so hard. He puts a lot of extra time into the playbook, and it's cool to see all his hard work come to fruition. The sky's the limit for that kid."
With Brown the talk of the town, it is important to remember that he has to keep stacking days, and Brian Schottenheimer said as much post-game.
Yes, it is a great start for Brown, but in the joint practice with the New Orleans Saints and then Dallas' next preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals, he's got to go out and produce again.
And with both Milton and Howell on a good wavelength with the UDFA, I'd imagine this might only be the beginning for Brown in 2026.
