Williams played under two different defensive coordinators last season, and he's already seen differences under Parker.
Dallas Cowboys' defensive tackle Quinnen Williams went through a lot last season as he had a new coordinator with the New York Jets (Steve Wilks), and then when he was traded here, it was Matt Eberflus in his ear.
And with the Cowboys undergoing significant change this offseason, Williams now has a new voice in his ear with Christian Parker taking over from Eberflus.
So that is a lot of change, both personnel and scheme-wise for Williams to go through, but at least this time around, he's with the same team.
A full offseason in Dallas for most could mean we see the best version of Quinnen under Parker.
But with so much change over the past 12 months, surely there are some key differences between what Quinnen saw under Wilks and Eberflus and what Parker is doing, right?
"I just think it's more consistent when it come down to the level of play," Williams said on the differences. "I just think it's beneficial when it come down to, especially the defensive line dominancy when you kind of think about the 3-4 and the 4-3. You got more defensive linemen on the field, which means more responsibility in that defensive line room.
"So, I definitely enjoy that. I definitely enjoy CP and his mindset, the way he do things, and also the defensive line coach (Marcus Dixon) and the way he do things. I'm just super excited to continue to grow, continue to learn more, and continue to perfect this scheme."
While some see rookie Caleb Downs as the centerpiece of Parker's defense, Quinnen is just as big a piece given what he can do at the line of scrimmage.
Last year in Dallas, he played seven games, posted 1.5 sacks, had nine quarterback hits, and three tackles for loss. So not great.
But Williams' game-breaking talent was seen in Dallas' best stretch of the season as it slayed the Las Vegas Raiders, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
So we saw glimpses, but nothing more, and in truth, in that defense, it was hard for anyone to really stand out.
I don't think it will be the same under Parker.
More is going to be put on Williams' plate in 2026, and it appears he's ready for a more consistent level of play from the defense moving forward.
