In just his second NFL game, Barham wore the green dot for Dallas and performed well for Christian Parker.
The Dallas Cowboys on Sunday were staring a 0-2 start in the face, but Brian Schottenheimer's team rallied and pulled off a 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium.
And the defense was led by rookie Jaishawn Barham.
Wearing the green dot with DeMarvion Overshown injured, the defense produced a three-and-out to start the game, but after that, it was a little disjointed.
But Barham, who was in charge of delivering Christian Parker's plays, managed a big tackle for loss, and then forced a fumble with a bone-jarring hit as the Cowboys recovered.
Dak Prescott and the offense then punched it in for a touchdown to take full advantage.
Given that the game was delicately poised at 20-13 with Dallas leading, Barham's forced fumble, which Dee Winters recovered, gave the team serious momentum.
So it was a good outing for Barham, in what was just his second NFL game and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams liked what he saw from No. 55 against Washington.
"The plays he making are super dope,” Williams said. “I see him making them in practice, super confident in him, and just keep building on the things he do well, and just like all of us, got to build on the things we got to correct.
"He played a great game, played phenomenal, wearing the green dot as a rookie, second game of the year, getting everybody in order, especially up front, just continuing to build on it and we all got huge trust in him.”
The defense was anything but perfect, but perhaps the biggest takeaway is that there was improvement. Granted, not a great deal, but enough to think that the train can eventually get on the tracks.
Injuries are piling up, though, with safety PJ Locke (foot) and corner Cobie Durant (hamstring) both ruled out, so Brian Schottenheimer might have to shuffle the deck as the team prepares to go to Brazil to face the Baltimore Ravens.
In truth, this was a game Dallas needed to win, and while the 37-20 scoreline does flatter the home team, it doesn't matter as it now moves to 1-1 as Barham, the defense leader, made one of the biggest plays in just his second game.
Williams was impressed by the rookie, and it appears that Jaishawn is beginning to endear himself to Cowboys Nation even more.
