Flournoy has taken on a new role in the Cowboys' offense this offseason, and he's ready to make the most of it.
Last season, Dallas Cowboys receiver Ryan Flournoy made it known that he can be a productive weapon in Brian Schottenheimer's offense.
In Year 2, Flo produced 475 yards and 4 TDs from 40 receptions, 29 of which went for first downs, as the chemistry with Dak Prescott was evident.
Such was Flo's form on offense and special teams; the Cowboys were more than fine with allowing Jalen Tolbert to walk out the door without even offering him a contract.
That speaks volumes.
And despite Flournoy having an increased role, he has still maintained his work ethic, being the first one on the field and the last to leave.
Now, as he heads into Year 3 with a big opportunity at his feet, he's ready to make it count.
"It's been great," Flournoy said of his progression. "Just want to stay consistent and just build off what I did last year. Just come in here, work harder than I did last year. Just stepping into a new role, I think last season I was at this point wide receiver five, wide receiver six, now wide receiver three.
"So, I got a voice now, just been working and just trying to get this team better, and we all got the goal of winning the Super Bowl. So, our culture and our bond is there."
With CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens ahead of him on the depth chart, Flo won't exactly be the defense's target to slow down, and that can open up opportunities in the pass game.
We saw it last season when Flournoy had 100-yard games, and that he has the ability to be a difference-maker for this offense. He played 44 percent of the snaps under Schottenheimer last season as a bit-part player.
Now, in Year 3, I'd imagine Flo will be seeing a large uptick in snaps, and that means more chances to show the world he is to be taken seriously as a weapon for Dallas.
Unassuming, but he goes about his business in the right way. Flournoy has been rewarded for his consistency, and now, a proper chance to stake his claim in one of the league's best offenses awaits.
