Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams has four Pro Bowls and an All-Pro in just seven years, but that's not enough for some.
When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, you can argue that some players haven't exactly pulled their weight over the last handful of years.
There are a few names that come to mind, but I am careful to call a player overrated, as we often don't know their individual assignments on a down-to-down basis.
Plus, it is a purely subjective.
A player you might think is overrated, someone else might think they aren't, and it appears that Quinnen Williams is in the crosshairs this offseason.
John Frascella posted a thread on X naming every overrated player on each NFL team's roster.
When it came to the Cowboys, he made an odd choice; Frascella is reportedly a New York Jets fan, which may be why he went with Williams.
"From my many years of watching Quinnen Williams, I feel he's a 'when the gettin' is good' player... he only plays well when the entire team is rolling and the vibes are 100 percent ... when you need him to be a star and carry you through hard times he can't do that," Frascella posted.
For a player who has four consecutive Pro Bowls, calling him overrated might be a little bit of a stretch. Plus, how many defensive tackles carry an entire team? Not many.
Quinnen has been with the Cowboys for half a season, and we saw the sugar hit he gave the defense when the Jets traded him to Dallas mid-season.
The burst and ability to break through the line to affect the quarterback were noticeable. But that was in Matt Eberflus' scheme, and as we saw, no one really played well in that.
But given what Williams' career has been across seven seasons, you will be hard-pressed to find someone who genuinely believes he is overrated as a player.
In July of 2025, ESPN released it's rankings of the top 10 defensive tackles in football, and Williams was at No. 5, with Jeffery Simmons (No. 4), Jalen Carter (No. 3), Chris Jones (No. 2), and Dexter Lawrence (No. 1) ahead of him.
"He's a guy you have to dedicate a game plan to," an NFL coordinator said in the ESPN piece. "One of the most complete interior guys in the game."
Again, it's a subjective decision to call Williams overrated, and in this instance, I think Frascella has gotten it wrong.
Quinnen is a dominant player at his position, and the company he keeps in that ESPN list proves that, but again, everyone has their own thoughts and opinions.
For me, Williams is the furthest thing from overrated in the NFL.
