The Cowboys' secondary had another body, with the franchise signing Derion Kendrick to a one-year deal.

The Dallas Cowboys' free agency additions list, for some, has been met with a shoulder shrug.

Good, not great players coming to The Star to be part of Christian Parker's revamped defense in 2026.

While some scoff at the business Dallas has done (and hasn't done), there can be no denying that a plan is in place that the franchise is following.

And as the draft edges closer, many thought the Cowboys would sign a veteran before things kick off in Pittsburgh. And they did... just not in the position many thought.

Dallas signed corner Derion Kendrick to bolster the defensive depth at the position.

So, what's the Cowboys Free Agency Scorecard look like now?

Now, back to this latest deal ...

The move for Kendrick likely won't impact Dallas' draft strategy either.

With corner still a need, the Cowboys could still look to LSU's Mansoor Delane, Avieon Terrell, or Colton Hood.

There is still plenty of work to do before the draft, and with the Cowboys having a little over $14 million in cap space at the time of writing, there are funds available to bring in another piece.

We have mentioned over the past week of Dallas' interest in potentially bringing in a veteran linebacker for Parker. While it remains quiet on that front at the moment, many still believe the Cowboys will be adding another body to the linebacker room.

Fixing the secondary has been a big point of emphasis for Dallas under Parker, with Kendrick added to a list that includes Jalen Thompson, Cobie Durant, and PJ Locke.

So four new faces on the backend for Dallas, who were torched repeatedly last season.

Some are starters, others depth pieces, but there's no denying the Cowboys felt they had a serious need to shore up the secondary, and they have done just that.

With Kendrick, the latest to come to The Star as part of Parker's defensive vision for 2026.
