The 2025 season was a different one for Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
Having been traded midseason, Big Q found himself as the centerpiece of Matt Eberflus' embattled defense, and made an immediate impact.
With Williams, Kenny Clark, and Osa Odighizuwa, the Cowboys did see an uptick in form for three weeks before the unit slipped back to being one of the worst defenses in football.
Still, for Williams, there are more than enough pieces at The Star to warrant optimism heading forward.
“I'm super excited,” Williams said. “Especially having an offense that we have, having a bunch of great guys on defense that's coming back that we have. I'm super excited for the future, for this coaching staff, and super excited for this leadership to step in and get this thing going.”
With Eberflus given his marching orders on Tuesday, the Cowboys are now on the hunt for a new coordinator, and Quinnen is likely a big attraction.
How far and wide Dallas casts its net in its coaching search isn't known, but there is no shortage of candidates.
Brian Flores, Jim Schwartz, Jonathan Gannon, and others are where the Cowboys should begin their search as Brian Schottenheimer, not Jerry Jones, looks to get the right person inside the building.
Williams was one positive to come from the 2025 season, along with Jadeveon Clowney, and the fact that both weren't on the roster to start the year shows the horrible position Dallas is in.
Armed with two first-round picks and the ability to go after one of the top defensive coordinators in this coaching cycle, it is easy to see why Williams is excited about the future.
