With Parker coming from a stout Eagles defense, it only makes sense that some players join him in Dallas, right?

The Dallas Cowboys have their new defensive coordinator in Christian Parker, and while attention right now is on filling out his staff, we are looking at who could join him, personnel-wise.

The Cowboys currently hold two first-round draft picks, which are likely to be used on defense. But before the draft, we have free agency, and it is here where our creative wheels spin.

We have already listed a host of players the Cowboys could look to add to plug several holes.

Trey Hendrickson, Alex Singleton, Devin Lloyd, Devin Bush, and Nakobe Dean are just some of the names  Dallas could look to acquire in free agency.

With pass rusher, linebacker, safety, and corner all pressing needs, there is a chance the Cowboys can at least address two of those in the draft.

But what about free agency?

Is there someone out there whom the Cowboys could bring in at cost, but also someone familiar with Parker and what he wants to implement?

For PFF's Bradley Locker, he brings up a name we have previously mentioned as well, in Eagles safety Reed Blankenship.

"Blankenship was ineffective in coverage last season with a 29.9 PFF coverage grade, but he still flashed with a 75.3 PFF run-defense grade," Locker wrote. "Additionally, his coverage grade before this season is a noticeably better 87.1.

"With Christian Parker coming in from Philadelphia as Dallas’ new defensive coordinator, several Eagles could join him — and the Cowboys could bank on a bounce-back season from the 26-year-old safety. "

He's not too old, and per Spotrac.com, has a calculated market value of just $7.2 million APY.

Yeah, that'll do.

The Parker connection, it could be said, might play a role in both Dean and Blankenship coming to The Star, although Dean's injury history worries me, and the Cowboys need dependable defensive players.

But Blankenship is one player the Eagles won't want to lose, and moving to a rival might not sit well with Reed either. However, how strong would the pull of playing under Parker be? We are about to find out.

Yes, some might see the move as neither here nor there, but in terms of his work in run defense, his knowledge of Parker, and his price tag, he could be someone Dallas could use.
