Dak threw four touchdowns against Washington, surpassing Tony Romo as the franchise leader.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott became the franchise's all-time leader in touchdown passes after throwing four in the 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.
With Prescott playing superbly well (26 of 31 for 279 yards) and throwing three touchdowns midway through the fourth quarter, the Cowboys needed to put the game away and nail the coffin shut that Marcus Mariota was keeping open.
The score was 30-20, and Prescott led a 14-play, 93-yard drive that ended with CeeDee Lamb hauling in a 24-yard touchdown to officially move Dak past Tony Romo for the all-time leader in touchdown passes with 249.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer broke the team down in the locker room and made special mention of Prescott and his achievement, so it was only natural that Dak be asked about what he accomplished on Sunday.
"I'm blessed, honored, records are meant to be broken, it was my time to break this one," Prescott said. "Pretty cool to do it against the team that I threw my first against 10 years ago or so. Definitely humbling, something I don't take for granted, the great history of this organization, the past quarterbacks before me.
"Super honored, super thankful, God's great, I'm not taking it lightly, it's just the beginning, I want to double it, I plan on playing for a while, just getting started."
With footage of the players post-game celebrating Dak going viral, we can see that No. 4 was very emotional.
After all, it is a big deal to now lead the franchise in all major quarterback categories (except wins), and it is clear Dak knew how big a moment it was for him and the team.
But what did he think of how his teammates showed their appreciation post-game?
"Yeah, I was emotional, I love those guys...to see my teammates act that way, to see guys that have only been together for five, six months, have the joy, the cheers that they do, it was emotional," Prescott said. "Very appreciative of it, shows me what this brotherhood means. Reminds me of how blessed I am."

His second on the day and one of his eight catches for 153 yards, Lamb has been with Dak his entire career and is responsible for 39 touchdowns with Prescott.
"Yeah, that was crazy to find out (that he caught Dak's record-breaking pass), obviously a lot of emotion, we needed to close the game out, happy he relied on me to make that play, and I'm happy for four," a smiling Lamb said.
The Cowboys got the much-needed win they came for at AT&T and move to 1-1.
But the real story is No. 4 adding yet another record to his long Cowboys resume.
