It is fair to say that Cowboys' COO Stephen Jones has grand aspirations for the offense in 2026.
The Dallas Cowboys' entire offseason focus has been on Christian Parker's defense after the 2025 horror show it was under Matt Eberflus.
The defense has been all the talk, especially with Caleb Downs being drafted as the new quarterback of the defense.
But we can't forget about the offense, can we?
Given how potent the offense was in Brian Schottenheimer's first year as head coach and coordinator, the expectation is that the group will continue its ascension to become not just a top-five offense in football, but the best.
Led by Dak Prescott, fresh off a Pro Bowl season, so too George Pickens, along with CeeDee Lamb, Javonte Williams, and Jake Ferguson, the Cowboys are again poised to have an elite unit.
So yes, the defense under Parker is getting all the attention and the plaudits, but don't forget about the monster on the other side of the ball, folks.
For Cowboys' COO Stephen Jones, speaking on Mad Dog Sports radio with Adam Schein, he had some glowing words for Dak and where he thinks the offense can get to in 2026.
"Dak Prescott, obviously, we feel like he's one of the best, if not the best, quarterback in the league," Jones said. "Then you surround him with a running game, surround him with the weapons CeeDee [Lamb], George Pickens, the deep receiver core we have, great tight end room, the offensive line group is strong.
"We've got Javonte Williams signed back. So, we feel like the pieces are in place for that offense to only get better, certainly coach Schottenheimer is one of the top offensive minds in this league."
The Cowboys' run game was a big plus last season, having been starved of a competent rushing attack for multiple seasons, and Javonte's 1,201 yards and 11 TDs helped pave the way for others to shine.
With Williams powering through defenses on the ground, it opened up things for Lamb and Pickens in the passing game. The Cowboys could beat you in multiple ways, and that is what made them so dangerous.
Now, in Year 2 with Schottenheimer, the Cowboys, per Schotty, are trying to "evolve" on offense, as the league will be honing in on what Dallas did in 2025, in an attempt to take that away in 2026.
All the pieces are there, and what Pickens, Dak, Lamb, the offensive line and Williams all look like with another full offseason in this offense, is a tantalizing thought.
Yes, the defense is the shiny new toy at The Star, but don't forget, Dallas has an offense that is the envy of the league, set to power the team in 2026.
