Three coaches depart as Dallas rebuilds its defensive staff, signaling a new era under Cowboys coordinator Christian Parker.

FRISCO - Fired. Fired. Fired.

As part of a clean-house movement involving the defensive coaching staff here at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys have "disinvited'' a trio of 2025 assistants - a collection of moves that suggests a new organizational-chart pecking order under owner Jerry Jones.

Gone are passing-game coordinator Andre Curtis, secondary assistant David Overstreet and linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi.

An official word of sorts is that they (and maybe others) "will not return for the 2026 season.'' But less gentle is the fact that they are being dismissed after being part of first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer's staff ...

You know, the part - defense - that finished as the NFL's worst.

Also leaving is Aaron Whitecotton, who interviewed for a promotion to become an NFL defensive coordinator with the Tennessee Titans - though will reportedly be their D-line coach.

Whitecotton has expressed positivity when it came to staying here to work under Parker.

The big change here? Jerry promised he wouldn't be the point man on a coordinator search that landed on the promising 34-year-old Parker; Schottenheimer ran that search and made that call.

And as for the rest of the defensive group? Parker is clearly working hand-in-hand with Schottenheimer to put it together.

Dallas has already interviewed Ronell Williams, who like Parker has been with the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams has served as an Eagles assistant linebackers coach and as a nickel cornerback coach.

The organization has requested an interview with Marcus Dixon, the defensive line coach of the Vikings. Dixon is a Brian Flores disciple and he worked in Denver when Parker was there.

Additionally, Dallas is talking with Steelers linebackers coach Denzel Martin about filling that role here. And former Giants coordinator Shane Bowen (who has a background as a linebackers coach) is being interviewed, per ESPN.

None of this means that Jerry's hands have been permantly removed from the Cowboys steering wheel. But for Dallas fans who think the owner's "meddling'' is a sign of dysfunction that's contributed to "The 30-Year Championship Drought''?

It's a start.
