Former Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons has made an interesting comment regarding one team he was close to joining before the trade to the Packers was agreed to.

The Dallas Cowboys' decision to trade away All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons is still being talked about as the Super Bowl comes into focus.

With both Micah and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones repeatedly being asked about that fateful trade during Super Bowl week, we are getting more and more information about what really happened.

Parsons was ultimately traded to the Green Bay Packers, as Dallas received Kenny Clark and two first-round picks in return.

It did seem a little odd that the Cowboys sent their best player to one of their fierce NFC rivals, but that is exactly what happened.

But what Cowboys Nation didn't know was that the trade could have ended up in an even more controversial way.

Or so Micah claims.

Parsons, on his podcast, The Edge, spoke with Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown, and the subject of Micah moving to the Eagles came up.

And somewhat surprisingly, Micah revealed that he was actually close to joining Dallas' hated rivals.

"To be honest, it was very close," Parsons said. "I was really about to come, but there was one person that I had to play with, that if he were going, that I didn't want to be there, and that was Jalen Carter.

"They [Cowboys] wanted a D tackle, and they wanted to trade me plus some picks. Sorry, Cowboys fans, it really almost happened."

Hmm, right.

So there's a little bit to work through here.

Perhaps the biggest one is that over the course of his Cowboys career, he repeatedly told us that he never wanted to play for the Eagles. ... Even going as far as stating he intentionally avoided the Eagles during his draft process because he didn't want to play for them.

"I skipped my Philly interview, people don't know that," Micah famously said. "I didn't want to stay home. True story."

Now all of a sudden, he's flipped from that? In truth, he could have. And there might have been a real chance of the move happening.

But would Jerry really have traded Micah to a direct NFC East rival, and one of Dallas most hated teams? Personally, we find that a little hard to believe.

And one more thing: The Eagles were willing to give up All-Pro Jalen Carter (and, we presume, picks) in exchange for Micah?

It's quite a story, we will say that.
