It has been nearly a year since the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, but how is the franchise feeling about the move now?
When the Dallas Cowboys decided to trade away Micah Parsons, there were conflicting emotions, and attention went straight to whether or not Dallas "won"
the trade."
And almost a year on from that fateful day, the picture is starting to become a little clearer.
With Micah out, Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, and Malachi Lawrence, Devin Moore and LT Overton coming to The Star, has Dallas won the trade?
Again, it is too early to tell.
But that hasn't stopped fans and media from making projections about it, and right now, some view Dallas as coming out ahead based on the players they've brought in with the draft capital they got in the Micah trade.
And for Cowboys COO Stephen Jones, who was a guest on Mad Dog Sports Radio with Adam Schein, he was asked about whether he feels Dallas is now on the positive side of the ledger regarding the Parsons trade.
"We feel really good about it," Jones said. "Obviously, much respect to Micah, at the same time, we feel good about what we've added via that trade. A guy like Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, they're alpha players, just bring great leadership to this team.
"Add a guy like Caleb Downs, who is going to make everyone around him great. I just feel very optimistic that we have the right pieces in place. Ultimately, the decision we made that one player is not worth four or five good ones, and we feel like that's where we are going to end up here.
"Certainly feel like we are putting the pieces together to give us an opportunity to go do what our fans deserve, what we want, which is to try and win the big trophy."
So, the Cowboys have got a good haul in return, and that doesn't include Downs, because he was a result of Dallas' poor 2025 season, and he was the franchise's own pick.
But to give up Micah and get Williams, Clark, Lawrence, Moore, and Overton, is that a good haul?
We've seen what Quinnen can do, Clark has yet to truly sparkle in Dallas, and the three rookies are all unproven.
So, while many want to paint one side or the other as the winner of the trade, we are still likely another year or two away from genuinely finding out the answer.
Right now, though? Dallas isn't exactly in the worst spot, is it?
