Pickens was an instant hit in Dallas, and now, as he's in his second offseason, his comfort level is on another level in Oxnard.
Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens has been like a duck to water since arriving at The Star last offseason, as he hit the ground running from the very first practice.
His relationship with CeeDee Lamb, the chemistry with Dak Prescott and Brian Schottenheimer, all made things easy for Pickens when the league-wide narrative painted him in a certain way.
Well, since being a Cowboy, that narrative, for the most part, has ended, and the biggest thing we have noticed is just how comfortable Pickens is with the organization.
From his teammates to the coaches and the front office, Pickens is at ease with it all and is perhaps the most comfortable he's been since entering the NFL.
But why?
Well, Pickens lifted the lid on why he is already so comfortable in Dallas.
"I'll probably say just the type of coaches and the people around when it's a different vibe and environment, then that's mostly what you're seeing out of me now," Pickens said. "Just definitely more light-hearted, just ask questions first, see your answer, instead of just going with their own narrative.
"So definitely being around the guys too. That's definitely my number one thing always, because when you can wake up in the morning, you see them, and we're going through the same thing. Just being around the whole facility."
The culture and brotherhood that Schottenheimer and his staff have created is surely the main reason why Pickens is at ease in Dallas.
Now, there is still a lot to go through in 2026 football-wise, and after his efforts last season, many are expecting Pickens to pick up where he left off after his first Pro Bowl season.
With another full offseason to build chemistry with Dak, CeeDee and the coaching staff, what George could be in 2026 is a scary proposition for defenses to think about.
