As the offseason began, most knew the Dallas Cowboys would be heavily involved in fixing the defense.
After a horror year under Matt Eberflus, the unit had several needs that had to be addressed quickly for new coordinator Christian Parker.
But as we've seen, the Cowboys aren't just all-in on defense; they've made some interesting offensive signings, too.
The first was quarterback Sam Howell, who will likely compete with Joe Milton for the backup role.
And the other was veteran offensive lineman Matt Hennessy.
Playing six seasons in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons and the San Francisco 49ers, Matt knows what he'll bring to Brian Schottenheimer's offense.
"I think just bring a lot of energy and bring a lot of competitiveness," Hennessy said.
We know Schottenheimer and his staff bring energy, so Matt will fit right in.
But being in the league for six seasons, you are going to get a wealth of experience, and in Hennessy's case, the chance to play multiple roles.
We know that Schottenheimer likes his players to be able to play different positions, and Hennessy knows how crucial it is to have that weapon in your arsenal.
"It's extremely valuable," he added. "I feel like the longer I play in the league, the more I realize is just the more you can do. That's all it really is."
Hennessy will come to a youthful offensive line room.
Starters Tyler Guyton, Tyler Booker, Cooper Beebe, and Tyler Smith, all under the age of 25, with Terence Steele (28) the oldest.
Oh, and it seems he will be replacing tough-guy role player Brock Hoffman, who is a free agent.
Can Hennessy be as tough and versatile and helpful as the well-liked Hoffman?
That's the plan.
Hennessy, at 28, could be seen as the elder statesman of the room, but he knows that he can bring something to his new unit.
"I think kind of fitting somewhere in the middle with being still on the younger end, but have a good amount of experience and adding what I can to the room," he said.
So the Cowboys' offseason has had a defensive flavor, and we think that will continue in the coming weeks.
But they haven't stopped addressing offensive line needs, with depth key for what many hope will be an elite unit in 2026.
And it appears Hennessy is determined to find his spot in Schottenheimer's offense in 2026.
