Marshawn Kneeland's girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, has given birth to a baby boy, with their franchise still wrapping its arms around the family.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland tragically lost his life last season, with the franchise in mourning over a player who meant so much to so many.
We heard players speak on what Marshawn meant to them, with now former Cowboy Osa Odighizuwa seen before games running with a big Kneeland flag to keep his memory alive.
At the time of his passing by what was reported to be suicide, we knew that his girlfriend, Catalina, was pregnant, and now, seven months later, she has given birth to a baby boy, per People.com.
Named Makhai, he was born on June 11, and Catalina posted an image of Makhai in the hospital, with a Kneeland picture on an item of clothing the baby was wearing on her Instagram.
She captioned the post: "my favorite gift from you 🤍June 11th, 2026."
And as the Cowboys began mandatory minicamp, the birth of Marshawn's son was brought up in Brian Schottenheimer's press conference, with the head coach revealing that the locker room is still keeping Marshawn's memory alive.
"We actually showed a picture of Makhai today, so congrats to Catalina," Schottenheimer said. "I actually saw her a couple weeks ago at (DeMarvion Overshown's) wedding, she was there and everybody's doing great. So the guys were fired up and excited.
"We've got a marker down in the players lounge supporting and it says "One Love" big, you know, bright star, because that was one of Marshawn’s sayings. And when you're part of our family, you’re family for life and we want to make sure we do a great job of looking out for her and Makhai.”
With Kneeland's passing, there was a huge outpouring of grief, and it was something the entire Cowboys organization had to deal with, along with playing football, which was incredibly hard. Not to mention Marshawn's family and friends and what they were going through.
But it is clear Kneeland isn't forgotten, and Schottenheimer is making sure that Catalina and Makhai have everything they need with the Cowboys' "family" answering the call.
Yes, life is likely incredibly difficult for Catalina and her family right now, but with Makhai by her side and the Cowboys organization behind her, she's getting everything that she needs and more.
