Much has been made of CeeDee Lamb's drops in the Dallas Cowboys' win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12, and it has continued to be headline-worthy news as we await today's Thanksgiving kickoff at AT&T Stadium against the Chiefs.
George Pickens' showing out yet again has led some to think that maybe George is the go-to guy for Dak Prescott.
Granted, this isn't the first time Lamb has had a drop issue, with Week 1 against the Eagles as well, where he left a lot of plays out on the field, especially in the fourth quarter.
But after Sunday's debacle that saw Lamb catch just four of his 11 targets, did Dak feel a need to have a little chat with Lamb?
"I mean, it's one game," Dak said. "If anything, it's for me to stay the same and show my support in him as I always have. I'm not going to panic, and he shouldn't panic. It was a frustrating game, but other than that, it's not like the guy can't go win a game by himself. So, I'm not going to make a bigger deal out of it.
"It wasn't his best game, he knows that. He's well aware of that, his standard, his expectations. There's no doubt in my mind that he'll respond."
With the 6-5 Kansas City Chiefs coming to town, Lamb is going to have to respond and be a key piece of the offense if the 5-5-1 Cowboys want to keep their small glimmer of playoff hope alive.
CeeDee can't have the same drop issues he had against the Eagles this week, because against this Chiefs team, while they might not be at the peak of their powers, they will still make you pay, as Patrick Mahomes doesn't need extra possessions to beat you.
All eyes will be on No. 88 to begin the game at AT&T Stadium, and with Brian Schottenheimer stating a lot of balls will be going Lamb's way, you can bet your house on CeeDee getting multiple targets on Dallas' early possessions ...
With Lamb echoing Dak's promise with a vow of his own.
“We know the problem,’‘ he said. “I need to catch the (expletive) ball. ... Other than that, man, we'll be fine. When I do catch it, just be ready.”
