The final preseason game is upon us as roster cuts loom large, but who will be suiting up for the Cowboys?
The Dallas Cowboys' final preseason game is here, and the New Orleans Saints are on the menu at AT&T Stadium for Brian Schottenheimer's team.
Facing the Saints after that disastrous joint practice is going to make for interesting viewing, and both sides will hope there are no fights.
For the Cowboys, several position battles are still yet to be won, with Joe Milton and Sam Howell for the QB2 role, Jaydon Blue and Malik Davis for the backup running back role, and the Camden Brown/Jonathan Mingo WR5 spot is also on the line.
But who will be suiting up against the Saints and who won't?
We know most, if not all, of the starters will be sitting this one out at AT&T Stadium, as this is the last chance for those on the roster bubble to impress the coaching staff.
So, who is playing in Dallas' preseason finale?
Well, for starters, it will be Joe Milton who starts for the Cowboys, making it back-to-back games for Joe, with Howell to play the second half.
We saw Howell start the first game against the Seattle Seahawks, and that looms as his only start for the preseason.
Also, in an interesting turn, it will be Klayton Adams calling plays against the Saints, not Schottenheimer.
Elsewhere, it is expected that Jaydon Blue, Phil Mafah, and Israel Abanikanda will all get some burn at running back.
Blue has been a big watch this offseason and is coming off a nice outing against the Arizona Cardinals, so too Abanikanda, while Mafah had a nice touchdown run.
Safety Julius Wood, who was in concussion protocol, is suiting up for the Cowboys, so this is a big night as he looks to secure a roster spot. Tight end Michael Trigg is also participating in warm-ups, a good sign that the UDFA will get on the field against the Saints.
Brown and Mingo are battling for the WR5 spot, and with Camden seen on the field with his helmet, it looks like the UDFA receiver will get some snaps tonight, so that could mean Mingo's spot on the roster is secured.
Indeed, there's a rumor that Brown will play limited snaps tonight and that Mingo won't play at all. ... And we'll take that as a sign.
