The Cowboys' Pro Bowl wide receiver shared a message on social media that is sure to get fans excited for the upcoming season.

Every so often, a clip will go viral online of Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin detailing the history of the jersey No. 88 in franchise lore.

Of course, the most recent player to be handed the infamous digits is CeeDee Lamb, Dallas' current $136 million wide receiver.

When Lamb was drafted in the first round in 2020 out of Oklahoma, Irvin, on his "The White House Podcast" explained how Cowboys owner Jerry Jones called the Hall of Famer about making the rookie the fourth member of the club.

First it was Drew Pearson, then came Irvin. Dez Bryant was next, and now it's Lamb.

When Irvin shared how Lamb previously said he wanted to wear No. 2 (the number he wore with the Sooners), Irvin gave him some insight into how 88 could represent his legacy in Dallas.

"'You gotta do what's going to make you do what you gotta do every morning. If you wear No. 88, there's a whole lot comes with that. Soon as you get it, you're going to raise the hope up of a whole Cowboys Nation, and it's a lot of pressure. If it's too much for you, we understand,'" Irvin recalled saying to Lamb.

With the clip circulating online, Lamb has offered up his response.

"Just being honest. i haven’t done anything yet," Lamb wrote on X. "Grateful always, Appreciate u Mike for sharing, I need more. No Greed just hunger."

Lamb, 26, has made five Pro Bowls, earned one First Team All-Pro nod, and just this past year, joined Irvin as the only Cowboys receivers to surpass a thousand receiving yards in five consecutive seasons.

The ultimate goal, however, is to reach the playoff success of Pearson and Irvin, who were represented on four of Dallas' five Super Bowl title teams.

To end the segment, Irvin shared the moment Lamb called him back and confirmed that he'd wear No. 88.

"Now go deliver," Irvin told him in response.

"And he has delivered."

Lamb is set to rekindle with the franchise's new passing leader, Dak Prescott, and best buddy George Pickens for the 2026 season.

Pickens has officially signed his franchise tag tender and is locked into a one-year deal that pays him $27.3 million.

The two star wideouts have spent a lot of time together during the offseason and will soon join Prescott and the rest of an offense that was among the most powerful in the league in Brian Schottenheimer's first season as head coach in 2025.
