Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley confirmed that both wide receiver Caleb Douglas and running back Jaylem Wright will return in Week 7.

The Miami Dolphins are off their Week 6 bye and are now gearing up to take on the New York Jets in Week 7.

Miami already has some good news in the form of players who will be available, as head coach Jeff Hafley has confirmed that both running back Jaylen Wright and wide receiver Caleb Douglas will play.

Wright missed Week 5 due to a foot injury, and Douglas has been out since Week 2 after suffering an ankle injury.

Prior to the injury, Douglas was the clear top target for quarterback Malik Willis, and that showed in Week 1. The rookie receiver hauled in five receptions for 94 yards, pointing to the chemistry the pair had through training camp.

Douglas would then suffer the ankle injury that kept him out for Weeks 3 to 5.

Wright has been dealing with the nagging foot injury that has kept him out and not as productive as he was in 2025. With the running back seemingly fully healthy, he can not now join Ollie Gordon II in the backfield to get the run game going.

With De'Von Achane out for the season, the assumption was that Wright would step in as the lead back. That has not been the case.

Gordon has continued to showcase some strong running skills in Achane's absence, and the second-year back should lead the way moving forward.

Gordon has picked up 229 yards and three touchdowns over the last three games. He should also be a major factor against the 25th-ranked Jets run defense.

Douglas' return should also help the ailing passing game. Willis has not quite developed the right kind of chemistry with his receivers, which has led to an uneven offensive attack.

The Dolphins have been able to move the chains, but they have not been able to sustain or close out drives that have led to wins. That can change against New York on Sunday.

Additional Dolphins Injury Updates

Hafley also spoke about the return of some additional players, or the delay in their returns.

Edge Robert Beal Jr. remains out due to a quad injury, and the Dolphins head coach stated that he does not expect the edge to play in Week 7.

Additionally, safety/linebacker Kyle Louis also returned to practice, but has been limited. Hafley said he would see how the defender looked in practice on Friday to determine if he could take the field.

Louis suffered a knee injury early on in Week 1 and has been on a lengthy layoff due to that issue. His 21-day practice window was opened, and he can return at any point during that time.
