Following a scary event that saw Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer being carted off the field, and he has now received a major update from head coach Jeff Hafley.

The Miami Dolphins are set to finish up their mini camp, but the team experienced what could have been a serious injury during practice on Wednesday.

Offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer had to be carted off the field, and the extent of his injury was unknown. Now, head coach Jeff Hafley offered a huge update on the situation.

"He's doing ok. I don't think you will see him out there today, but I do not think it will be anything long-term," Hafley said of Salyer.

Salyer was brought over to the Dolphins after spending the last four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. Though the tackle positions are inhabited by Patrick Paul on the left side and Austin Jackson on the right, there was a belief the young veteran could push for a starting position, and at least have a rotational spot.

Though he may not practice for a bit, the good news is that he appears not to have suffered anything that is long-term or season-ending.

Additional Dolphins Injury Updates

Hafley also spoke on rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas, who "tweaked something" in practice. Douglas figures to be a rookie who should get plenty of playing time and is viewed as a player who may make an immediate impact.

"Caleb Douglas just tweaked something. I'd imagine he will be out today, but nothing long-term for him. Hopefully, he will be back next week," Hafley said.

Despite it only being mini camp, there are several players that have been dealing with injuries.

Running back De'Von Achane is nursing a shoulder injury that has led to Hafley indicating he will remain on individual drills through mini camp. The same is happening with Jackson, who is still dealing with a foot injury that sidelined him for the majority of the 2025 season.

Jackson's recovery is very important, as he is in a contract year, and his not being on the field in 2026 would likely lead to his exit from the Dolphins following the conclusion of this season.

When Jackson is on the field, he is one of the best tackles in the league. The issue is he has only played in 14 games over the past two seasons, which is clearly not enough playing time.

With training camp set to take place in July, there is plenty of time for this Dolphins team to get healthy to start training with one another when it truly matters.
