During media availability, Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley offered updates on Austin Jackson, De'Von Achane, and many more.

Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley opened his presser by stating that every single player engaged in and passed the conditioning test at the outset of training camp.

While passing the conditioning test is an important first step, Hafley also revealed some hugely important injury updates on multiple players, including offensive lineman Austin Jackson, running back De'Von Achane, and many more.

Jackson has had issues with staying on the field, and he missed OTAs and minicamp due to the lingering foot injury he suffered in 2025.

When asked about the lineman, Hafley said emphatically, "He is back, he is back."

Achane also underwent offseason shoulder surgery, and there were concerns that could impact his ability to start training camp. That is also not the case, as the Dolphins head coach indicated the Pro Bowler is "good to go."

In terms of where rookie receiver Chris Bell is, Hafley indicated that he is in a "really good place."

"I think it's up in the air," Hafley said regarding Bell's return being months or weeks. "I think he is in a really good place right now. And we'll see. I don't think it's way off in the distance. But I am excited where he is at ... You're gonna see him running around out there. He did the conditioning test with the team."

Though Jackson, Bell, and Achane received good news regarding their injuries, cornerbacks Storm Duck and Darrell Baker Jr. did not receive a glowing update.

"They will be a little bit further off. They'll be further off down the road. At some point this season, I see them coming back," Hafley said.

Hafley has indicated that Duck and Baker will be back at some point, but it does not sound as though they will be healthy enough to start the regular season. Bell is apparently further along than the pair of cornerbacks.

It will be interesting to see how the Dolphins respond to the injuries in the secondary, and if they will address the depth via free agency.

Miami recently brought in former first-round pick Clelin Ferrell, which Hafley pointed to again to simply bring in more competition.

"We were watching him on film. A guy that plays really hard. I think it brings competition to that room. He's got good strength. The more competition we can bring in, I think we’ll see a lot of that as we turn through things," Hafley said.

Considering general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has a penchant for bringing in low-cost veterans, it would not be shocking if the Miami front office also brings in some more cornerback help, with Duck and Baker being a bit far off from their chance to play football.
