
The Miami Dolphins have officially announced that they have signed linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr.

The Dolphins have announced that they have officially signed veteran linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr, after it was reported that he would be joining the team.
The team shared the news via X.
The 28-year-old will make his way from Georgia to Florida. Harrison spent the 2025 season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. He has played both linebacker and safety throughout his eight-year NFL career.
While there was some questions regarding what position the Dolphins were set to bring Harrison to play, they indicated as much with their official signing announcement. Per the release, the former safety will join Miami as an inside linebacker.
Prior to the start of the 2025 season, Harrison signed with the Falcons in early August. However, a few weeks later, he was waived as part of the final roster cuts and re-signed to the practice squad the next day. In late October, Harrison was signed to the active roster.
Harrison played in 10 games at the linebacker position. In those contests, he recorded 29 total tackles, two tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, two passes defended, and two sacks. Harrison started in four games for the Falcons.
The Dolphins will be Harrison's fifth team in the league. The linebacker/ safety started his career in Jacksonville, with the Jaguars drafting him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was the 93rd overall pick in that year's draft.
Harrison spent two seasons with the Jaguars before he was traded to the Cleveland Browns before the start of the 2020 season. He was traded in exchange for the Browns' fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
His best season in the league came in the 2021 season. Harrison collected career-highs playing at the safety position that season, recording 58 total tackles, four tackles for loss, one quarterback hit, three passes defended and one sack.
Harrison's 58 total tackles that season were a career-high.
After three seasons with the Browns, Harrison signed with the Indianapolis Colts for the 2023 season. In his time in Indianapolis, he played the linebacker position primarily. After two seasons with the Colts, Harrison signed a one-year deal with the Falcons.
In his NFL career, Harrison has collected 74 combined tackles, 8.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, 27 passes defensed, and seven interceptions.
Harrison will bring starting experience, physicality, and special teams versatility to the Dolphins as they look to stay competitive moving forward.
