Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley offered some injury updates on both wide receiver Caleb Douglas and running back Jaylen Wright.

The Miami Dolphins are dealing with some injuries to key players, two of whom missed Week 3 due to their ailments.

Wide receiver Caleb Douglas and running back Jaylen Wright both missed the Kansas City Chiefs matchup, and both have now received updates from Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley.

Douglas was rolled on during Week 2, and he suffered an ankle injury as a result of the play. Following the Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, he was seen in a walking boot.

Douglas would miss practice heading into Week 3, and he was ruled out before the final injury report was released ahead of the Chiefs game.

During media availability on Wednesday, Hafley revealed that the rookie wide receiver will not practice. That does not mean he may not return to practice this week, but he will already be a DNP (did not participate) this week.

Wright also suffered a foot injury and a stinger in Week 2, leading to him having to leave the game. That foot injury also carried into Week 3, as he was ruled out.

Now, he could be tracking his way back to playing, as Hafley stated that Wright will be back out on the field, though he will be limited.

The Dolphins need help at running back now that De'Von Achane is out for the season. Achane suffered a torn ACL early in Week 3 and will now miss the rest of 2026.

With Achane and Wright out, the Miami offense relied on Ollie Gordon II and wide receiver Malik Washington stepping in as the emergency option.

Hafley also revealed a plan for depth heading into Week 4 as both Carlos Washington and Jarquez Hunter will try out this week to be upgraded from the practice squad to the active roster.

Hafley may have to elevate both if Wright cannot work his way back to action by the end of the week.

With Douglas out, quarterback Malik Willis looked to Chris Bell, who had a breakout game. Bell ended Week 3 with 67 yards on four receptions. Even with Washington serving in a running back role, he also had 56 yards through the air.

The Dolphins' offense is starting to show that it can certainly be potent, but it will be less so without the help of Achane. However, this will lead to Wright and Gordon getting more opportunities to show what they can do.
