The Miami Dolphins have landed former Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Joshua Uche on a one-year deal.

The Miami Dolphins may not have a ton of cap space to work with, but the team is making moves, this time landing former Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Joshua Uche.

Uche joins the Dolphins to bolster a unit that has been decimated due to cap constraints and trades.

The Dolphins traded Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline in November for a 2026 third-round pick, which kicked off the dwindling of the pass rush.

Heading into free agency, it was announced that the team would also cut Bradley Chubb, though that has not been formally completed just yet.

Chop Robinson remains the only true pass rusher on the team, with Derrick McClendon and Cameron Goode also aiding on the defensive line. Now, that unit has Uche, who has 21.5 sacks through six seasons.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on the signing, stating, "Former Eagles edge Joshua Uche is signing a one-year deal with the Dolphins, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln."

Uche began his career with the New England Patriots after being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Michigan.

As a member of the Patriots, he secured one sack and seven quarterback hits through nine games and one start. Following his rookie year, Uche began to blossom, bringing in three sacks in 2021 and a breakout year of 11.5 sacks in 2022.

During the 2024 season, Uche was traded from the Patriots to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth-round pick, where he secured no sacks and 10 total tackles.

Uche would arrive with the Eagles in 2025, appearing in 12 games, securing one sack and 10 total tackles.

Now, Uche joins a Dolphins defense where he could be utilized a bit more due to the lack of pass rushers on the team currently. The former Eagles linebacker played in 244 snaps in 2025 and 249 snaps in 2024 with the Chiefs.

By comparison, Chop Robinson played in 417 snaps in 2025.

Despite an offseason that should have been relatively quiet, the Dolphins continue to make moves.

The front office under Jon-Eric Sullivan has signed quarterback Malik Willis, signed Uche, re-signed offensive lineman Austin Jackson, re-signed tight end Greg Dulcich, re-signed linebacker Willie Gay, and signed kicker Zane Gonzalez.

Expect more moves to happen in the coming days, but the Dolphins are continuing to make some decent moves.
