Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley offered injury updates on Trey Moore and multiple other players.

The Miami Dolphins not only lost in a major way to the New York Giants in their second preseason victory. The team was also hit with some significant injuries.

Projected starter Trey Moore suffered what appeared to be a severe leg injury following an attempted tackle on quarterback Jameis Winston. Moore has now received an unfortunate injury update from head coach Jeff Hafley.

Following the game, Hafley had stated that he was unsure what occurred with Moore, but he has now admitted the rookie linebacker "will miss some time."

Hafley also admitted he is still unsure just how significant the injury to Moore is, but he will get some additional testing done. The best-case scenario would be that the linebacker can return at some point during the regular season.

Hafley admitted that Moore suffered an ankle injury, and he may be dealing with something like a high ankle sprain, which would keep him out for multiple weeks, but would not be season ending. However, if tests find any structual damage, the linebacker may be out for the majority of the season or all of it.

Dolphins Additional Injury Udpates

Hafley also revealed additional injury updates on several players who suffered injuries in the game.

Running back Ollie Gordon II also went down after being swarmed by multiple New York Giants defenders on a run. When he was tackled, Gordon remained on the ground for several minutes and had to be assisted by trainers to get up and taken to the locker room.

The good news for the Dolphins and Gordon is that Hafley stated he was cleared to return to the game, but they chose to keep him out as a precautionary measure.

Linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr. also suffered a hamstring injury and is not expected to play this week as a result.

Additionally, Hafley also revealed a big update on quarterback Quinn Ewers, stating he is "hopeful" that Ewers will be back to practice this week.

Considering how the other quarterbacks on the roster performed in the second preseason matchup, getting Ewers back might be a huge boost.

Hafley to Change Practice in Final Week

Hafley also revealed that he plans to change practice by working the starters far more, getting them involved in situational periods to prepare for the start of the regular season.

Considering the way the second preseason game ended, this could mean the starters may play a bit longer in the third and final preseason game. Then again, with the injuries to Moore and Gordon, the Dolphins head coach could also play things a bit safer.

The usual case for the final preseason game is to act as the "dress rehearsal," but Hafley has stated its more about how many snaps players get during practice, and that will determine how long they play in preseason.
