With the NFL trade deadline happening in less than a month, here are three Miami Dolphins players who could be on the move ahead of the trade deadline.
The Miami Dolphins are 0-5, and there is a chance this team might not win many games this season, if any.
When general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan took over, he stated the idea for his plan, and this team was to get younger and cheaper. Thus far, that has been the case for the organization.
High-priced contracts were done away with, and only the three pillars that the Dolphins established were given a new deal: running back De'Von Achane, center Aaron Brewer, and linebacker Jordyn Brooks were all given extensions.
The rest of the roster was put together with rookies, UDFAs, and low-cost veterans, making it seem even more likely that the Dolphins could be sellers at the deadline. That said, here are three players who could be on the move next month.
3. Edge, Josh Uche
Josh Uche is a longtime veteran who signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins. Despite playing 196 snaps thus far through five weeks, he could be a prime candidate to move for some draft capital.
Uche has 12 total tackles and one sack through five games. While it would be a big surprise for the league's worst pass rush to give up one of its pass rushers, that might be exactly why Miami moves on.
A lot can happen between now and when the trade deadline approaches on Nov. 10, but if the Dolphins' pass rush remains abysmal, there is no reason a team would not call to see if they could land Uche for a deep season run.
2. WR, Jalen Tolbert
Similar to Uche, Jalen Tolbert is a longtime veteran who joined Miami on a one-year deal. The offense has not featured Tolbert much at all, as the rookies and younger pass catchers have taken over thus far.
Tolbert may not be utilized in the correct way with the Dolphins, but he could be a strong rotational option for another team that needs a boost to their wide receiver department.
Tolbert did see some success with the Dallas Cowboys during the 2024 season when he caught seven touchdowns and 610 yards, but the arrival of George Pickens saw his production diminish greatly.
With just one reception for 22 yards, the Dolphins could see about landing a low draft pick by trading him.
1. DL, Zach Sieler
Defensive lineman Zach Sieler might be one of the most heartbreaking potential players to be traded for Dolphins fans, but his being moved makes the most sense.
Sieler signed a three-year, $64 million extension with the team in 2023, meaning his deal will be up in 2027, and he will likely be seeking another deal. Based on his age and the way that Sullivan is taking the organization, it would be safe to say the Dolphins may look to see if a lucrative deal comes along.
Miami would incur a $27.7 million cap hit if they trade Sieler, but they could also absorb that if a team is willing to offer something along the lines of a second- or third-round pick and more capital come November.
Sieler still plays well, which is why a strong deal would have to be presented for the team to move on from him. However, at nearly being 36, the age thing may be took hard to overlook for this young team.
