Here are the five cornerbacks the Miami Dolphins could target following the devastating injury news to Darrell Baker Jr. and Storm Duck.
The Miami Dolphins placed cornerbacks Darrell Baker Jr. and Storm Duck on the active/physically unable to perform list.
In a position group that already had plenty of question marks entering the season, even more uncertainty has emerged. The Dolphins' cornerback room is in a difficult spot, and it's as unclear as ever how things will shake out moving forward.
With the uncertainty surrounding Baker and Duck, Miami may need to add another defensive back — or even multiple players — to reinforce the secondary.
Here are the five cornerbacks the Dolphins could target in light of the devastating injury news.
For the most part, these players are under 30 or just north of it, and they carry market values of around $1 million, according to Spotrac.
5. Nazeeh Johnson
Johnson remains a free agent after spending his first four seasons in the league with the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s a former seventh-round pick who offers upside.
Even if he’s not a guaranteed starter, he could provide depth; he’s a veteran, and he could fit the Miami timeline.
4. Tre'Davious White
White is far from the All-Pro he was in his earlier years with the Buffalo Bills; however, he brings something the Dolphins desperately need: experience.
The Dolphins lack that as things stand, and if they can add someone who can stabilize a young secondary for one season, White makes all the sense in the world.
3. Jeff Okudah
Okuah is the youngest player on this list at only 27 years old. The former top-3 draft pick has not lived up to the hype, and that is an understatement.
Nonetheless, the former No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft still has the physical traits worth betting on, especially the season Miami is heading towards.
A rebuilding team like the Dolphins is exactly the type of situation where a player like Okudah could rebuild his value. It could be a win-win situation for the two sides.
2. Kris Boyd
Boyd is a former seventh-round pick and last played in the league in 2024 with the Houston Texans. In 2025, he was part of the New York Jets organization but was placed on the injured reserve last August and did not play a game.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Boyd is 29 years old and brings NFL experience while also bringing value on special teams. Still, he has enough athleticism to compete for a rotational role rather than simply serving as a veteran mentor.
1. Trevon Diggs
Diggs is by far the best option and would be a high-upside swing.
If healthy, Diggs could completely change the outlook of the secondary alongside first-round rookie defensive back Chris Johnson. The former Packers cornerback may have had some injury issues, but he led the league with 11 interceptions in 2021.
He’s the most expensive option as Spotrac has him listed at $7.5 million market value.
