The Miami Dolphins have released their first Week 1 unofficial depth chart.

The Miami Dolphins will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders to kick off the 2026 NFL season and the new era under head coach Jeff Hafley. With the matchup just days away, the team has released its first unofficial depth chart.

Considering the depth chart is unofficial, Hafley can make some changes leading up to the start of game time on Sunday.

That said, there are some interesting things to make note of in the Dolphins' first depth chart.

Notes on Dolphins Unofficial Depth Chart

Wide Receiver Starters

It was well-established that the Dolphins would be going with at least one rookie in a wideout starting position, which has gone to Caleb Douglas. Douglas had a very nice camp, and his chemistry with quarterback Malik Willis was well documented.

What makes this lineup interesting is fellow rookie Chris Bell is also a starter alongside Malik Washington.

Washington, like Douglas, has established himself as a strong weapon for Malik Willis. However, Bell has not had much practice apart from the third and final preseason game in terms of live-action reps.

Bell did show why he is being pegged as a strong playmaker, but to make him a starter may be a bit premature.

Additionally, there are 12 offensive players listed, but only 11 are allowed. Either fullback DJ Herman or Bell may be the odd man out.

Dante Trader Jr. is Starting Safety

One of the biggest surprises has to be Dante Trader Jr. winning a starting safety spot over Michael Taaffe. Taaffe had a very strong camp, but this first depth chart appears to show that he will be behind Trader.

Additionally, rookie Kyle Louis has also been moved from being a linebacker to being a full fledged safety. Hafley spoke about the versatility of the rookie, as did Sullivan, and the goal is to cross-train the defender across special teams, safety, and potentially also back to being a true linebacker.
