A look at the current Miami Dolphins linebacker room ahead of training camp.

The Miami Dolphins have a roster that is full of new faces, but one of the most solid units that did not go through massive changes is the linebacker room.

Propelled by the reigning lead tackler in the NFL, Jordyn Brooks has established himself as a strong All-Pro leader who can help to lead the defense and shape the draftees that begin their career in South Florida.

That said, here is a look at the current linebacker room ahead of training camp.

Dolphins Linebackers on the Roster

Jordyn Brooks

The aforementioned Brooks has emerged as a force on the Dolphins' defense, as he worked his way into leading the NFL with 182 total tackles. He tacked on 3.5 sacks and became a leader for the unit in 2025.

The conversation continues to be on whether Miami will offer Brooks a multi-year deal after naming him a "pillar," but that has yet to happen. The expectation still remains he will stay with the team for multiple years.

Tyrel Dodson

Despite the attention on Brooks, Tyrel Dodson picked up 129 tackles of his own and was a huge force in the pass rush game with five sacks. After being claimed off waivers by the Dolphins, the defender emerged as a playmaker and is the perfect complement to Brooks.

Willie Gay Jr.

Willie Gay Jr. picked up two sacks as a rotational linebacker in the Miami system in 2025. He could see a big uptick in his production in 2026, especially given the youth of the room.

Ronnie Harrison Jr.

Ronnie Harrison Jr. joined the Dolphins after spending the 2025 season with the Atlanta Falcons, where he secured 29 tackles and two sacks through 10 games.

Jacob Rodriguez

Jacob Rodriguez remains one of the most intriguing prospects and could become a Day 1 impact option for the Miami defense. The rookie has garnered mentorship from Brooks and Hall of Famer Zach Thomas

Trey Moore

Trey Moore is the second of three linebackers who were drafted by the Dolphins. The former Texas Longhorn defender could factor into a strong rotational role in 2026.

Kyle Louis

Kyle Louis is the third draft pick, but a unique defensive back/linebacker hybrid that could emerge as a strong playmaker in subpackage situations due to his versatility. Expect him to get plenty of chances in the new defensive system.

Additonal backups:

Jackson Woodard

DJ Herman

Biggest Linebacker Questions

Will the Dolphins extend Brooks?

As mentioned above, there seems to be a lot said about Brooks receiving a long-term deal. Granted, the clock is ticking on training camp and the regular season, so a deal needs to be wrapped up before then, so as not to cause any sort of distraction.

Will Rodriguez, Moore, and Louis get ample time on the field?

Having an influx of youth is always a good thing, but whether or not all three rookies will see sizable playing time in 2026 remains to be seen. It will be interesting to see how Jeff Hafley carves out roles for the draftees.
