The NFL combine is a time in the NFL offseason, similar to the draft, where the NFL bands together from personnel to fans. It's a meeting ground for all things football, and oftentimes, it provides us with some great content.
This weekend, amid the slew of young men proving themselves on the NFL stage for the first time, some folks were able to catch up with the legendary Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb.
As a great for the franchise, he was asked who he believes to be on the Mount Rushmore of Eagles quarterbacks. When you see the list, it's tough to debate.
We probably could have guessed this one. Not only was he sure to throw himself on the list, but even without a Super Bowl victory to his name, he's clearly deserving of being on this list.
McNabb leads all franchise QBs in total yards and touchdowns by a wide margin, and unless Jalen Hurts is going to revolutionize the way he plays, it'll likely be a while until an Eagles QB catches him. He also leads the franchise in total wins by a QB.
Despite not bringing the Lombardi to Philadelphia, he repeatedly got incredibly close. McNabb took the Eagles to five NFC Championship games and an appearance in Super Bowl 39.
Without Randall Cunningham, we may not have seen the likes of athletic Eagles QBs like Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, or Jalen Hurts. He was one of, if not the first, in a now long line of hyper athletic quarterbacks.
With a mix of elite speed and arm strength, Cunningham revolutionized the position and made the Eagles must-see television in the process. He finds himself third in both total passing yards and touchdowns, trailing only two other greats who are also on this list.
During his 11 seasons with the Eagles, Cunningham was a four-time Pro Bowler, 1990 Offensive Player of the Year, and led the Eagles to multiple playoff appearances.
Ron Jaworski may just be as 'Philly' as it gets on this list. The man started 116 consecutive games for the Eagles throughout one of the most brutally physical eras in the history of the sport.
Unlike the other QBs on this list, Jaworski relied much less on athleticism and more on arm talent. He finds himself second in yards and touchdowns on Philadelphia's all -time list.
Like the previous QBs on this list, Jaworski doesn't have a Super Bowl to his name, but he did provide the team with one of the most special seasons in franchise history during their 1980 Super Bowl run.
Although the reviews can currently be a mixed bag on Jalen Hurts, there is no denying that he's already earned a spot on this list early in his career. His stats and accomplishments speak for themselves, and he's only in his sixth season.
Hurts rounds out not just the top four of this list, but the top four of Philadelphia's all-time passing yards and touchdowns. Despite Cunningham's elite athletic prowess, due to the tush push, Hurts nearly doubles him in rushing touchdowns, and he's just seven away from breaking the franchise record.
Jalen Hurts sets himself apart on this list in one of the largest ways: his postseason success. Of all the QBs on this list, Hurts is the only one with a Super Bowl victory. He is still so early in his career that he legitimately has the chance to become the greatest QB in Eagles history.
