After winning the Lombardi trophy the season before last, the Eagles suffered from what many champions do: the dreaded Super Bowl hangover. By no means was it a terrible season, but by Philadelphia's standards, it was not good enough.
The season eventually ended at the hands of the severely undermanned San Francisco 49ers, and for many within the Eagles organization, it felt like a bit of a wake-up call that now was the time to pivot.
One of the ways the organization could plan to pivot would be to trade star WR AJ Brown. Brown has all the talent in the world, but in an offense heavily predicated on Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts' legs, it begs the question of whether or not his fit is ideal anymore.
Especially when him not getting the ball became a major point of contempt and drama over the course of last season.
According to Albert Breer, outside of an AJ Brown move, the Eagles could also choose to bolster their team by trading for one of the most elite edge rushers in football.

The Eagles' pass rush was good, not great, last season as they fell roughly in the middle of the pack in the league in total sacks. When you look at where those sacks came from, however, the majority were from their LB core and the interior of the DL.
The lack of pressure off the edge was what triggered the organization to make the midseason trade for Jaelan Phillips from Miami. If the Eagles are able to make a trade for Maxx Crosby this offseason, expect that to change.
Crosby is one of the most elite edge rushers the NFL has to offer, and even if he's not racking up ridiculous sack totals, he is in the backfield every single play, seemingly.
If you take Crosby's numbers from last year, he would've led the Eagles in sacks (10), tackles for loss (28), and would've been 5th on the team in total tackles (73).
With Philadelphia's LB core and secondary having playmakers littered all over the field, Crosby would be the perfect piece to turn this defense into a nightmare for opposing offenses.
