Saquon Barkley has delivered an injury update on his status for the Eagles game against the Bears this week.
The Philadelphia Eagles were able to get a big win over the Tennessee Titans last week, despite star running back Saquon Barkley missing portions of the game due to injury.
Barkley went out during the game with a stinger, only to come back in for a limited time later in the contest. Philadelphia has been cautious with the star running back over the last few days, giving him time to heal up.
But Barkley has practiced in each of the last few days, giving more thought to his playing on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears. And now, Barkley has confirmed this himself, saying that he is a full go for the game against Chicago.
Barkley said that he is confident in how the stinger has healed, and he is excited to get back out on the field. Philadelphia could use his services, and it's been a good sign that he has practiced this week.
Without Barkley, backup Tank Bigsby took on the duties of being the Eagles' running back. And while Bigsby did well, having Barkley available for this game should give Philadelphia a nice boost.
Barkley is still one of the best running backs in the game today, although he has gotten off to a slow start to open 2026. Through the first two games of the season, Barkley has rushed for 92 yards total, with no touchdowns.
But he will be looking to change that against the Bears this week. Chicago has given up a ton of rushing yards over their first few games this year, and Barkley will try to take advantage of the situation.
Due to his injury, the Eagles may elect to give some extra snaps to Bigsby, easing Barkley back into the game plan. But having their star out on the field should bring some energy to this Eagles offense that was stagnant at times last week against the Titans.
The Eagles had to go on a late-game drive to take down Tennessee, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts. But in the end, a win is a win at this point in the season, and the Eagles are 2-0 to open the season.
As they prepare for the Bears, Philadelphia will try to not overlook Chicago, who just lost quarterback Caleb Williams for a few weeks due to injury. If the Eagles can come out to play their style of game, this should be a more favorite contest for them.
