Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter suffered a right wrist injury in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders while trying to punch the ball out of Terry McLaurin's hands in the fourth quarter.
Carter was sidelined for Wednesday's practice and was a limited participant on Thursday, but he will play in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans.
Carter will wear a cast against the Titans.
"Pretty much nothing. It's just a cast," Carter said. "I'm still going to have to strike, grab, play the run and pass rush. That's pretty much it. I can't let it affect me."
Carter had one solo tackle and one forced fumble in Week 1. The Eagles beat the Commanders, 24-22, at home.
The Eagles signed Carter to a four-year, $152 million extension worth up to $160 million, including $106 million guaranteed. Philadelphia selected Carter with the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Carter has 13.5 sacks, 25 tackles for loss and 37 QB hits in 44 NFL games. He made the Pro Bowl in 2024 and 2025 and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl during the 2024 season against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carter's 83 pass-rush wins as an interior lineman since 2023 are tied for the seventh most in the NFL. He's one of the best players in the league and the Eagles made the right move by signing him to an extension.
“I don't really think the money is ever gonna change me,” Carter said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. "When you get picked in the first round and you’re a top-10 pick, you kind of get a little bit of decent money. And that didn't change me. I still came in, I had a goal, let the team know and the fans know that the goal was to get a championship. And it happened. But it's a new contract and it's time to get more championships for the city of Philly."
Carter and the Eagles should easily beat the Titans, who are 0-1.
