Despite being 2-0 and throwing the game-winning TD pass in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans with nine seconds left in regulation, Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts went from 11 to 13 in FOX Sports QB rankings.
FOX Sports has Hurts behind Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams, who is injured, and Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love, who is 1-1 and barely beat the New York Jets in Week 2.
Coming into the season, there was concern that Hurts would struggle since he's in another new offense. While it hasn't always looked pretty, Hurts has played well through two games. He has 467 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, two interceptions and 62 rushing yards.
The Eagles are 59-25 in the regular season with Hurts under center. They have been to two Super Bowls and won it all against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
The Eagles signed Hurts to a five-year, $255 million extension in April 2023. However, there is little guaranteed money left on Hurts' deal after the 2026 season.
If Hurts plays well all season and leads the Eagles to another Super Bowl, he will get another huge extension.
The Eagles could face Case Keenum in Week 3, as Caleb Williams has a hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent is in the NFL's concussion protocol.
No offense to Keenum, but the Eagles should easily beat the Bears if Keenum is starting at QB.
Hurts and the Eagles lost to the Bears last season in November, 24-15. Hurts had 230 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, one interception and 31 rushing yards on four carries.
A talented runner and thrower, Hurts finished the 2025 season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He completed 64.8% of his passes.
Hurts entered this season with 17,891 passing yards, 110 passing touchdowns, 3,554 rushing yards and 63 rushing touchdowns in his career. He's made the Pro Bowl three times and won Super Bowl LIX MVP against the Kansas City Chiefs.
If Hurts continues to plays well in 2026, the Eagles will make the playoffs again and contend for a Super Bowl.
However, if the QB struggles in Sean Mannion's system when the games get tough, Philadelphia will crumble and Hurts may get traded next offseason.
Philadelphia traded A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots this offseason. Brown and Hurts used to be best friends.
With Brown gone, DeVonta Smith is Hurts' new No. 1 WR. Hurts was at Smith's wedding this offseason, so the two are close.
