FOX Sports believes the Philadelphia Eagles have the seventh-best skill position players in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles have the seventh-best skill position players in the NFL, according to FOX Sports.

Philadelphia is one spot ahead of the San Francisco 49ers and one spot behind the Chicago Bears.

"Not many teams can trade away a No. 1 receiver (A.J. Brown) and still have one on the roster (DeVonta Smith), but that’s exactly why the Eagles felt comfortable making that trade," FOX Sports wrote. "They also added Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown this offseason and drafted Makai Lemon in the first round to make sure the position was still a strength. Of course, they’ve got lots of strength beyond that.

"Saquon Barkley is coming off a down year, but he remains one of the NFL’s best and most elusive running backs. And when Dallas Goedert is healthy, he’s a dangerous and reliable tight end that gives Jalen Hurts one of the best underneath options in the league. This group was better and deeper with Brown, to be sure. But it’s still fantastic without him."

Hurts finished the 2025 season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He completed 64.8% of his passes.

The Eagles signed Hurts to a five-year, $255 million extension in April 2023. However, there is little guaranteed money left on Hurts' deal after the 2026 season.

Hurts enters this season with 17,891 passing yards, 110 passing touchdowns, 3,554 rushing yards and 63 rushing touchdowns in his career. He's made the Pro Bowl three times and won Super Bowl LIX MVP against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Barkley had 1,140 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns in 2025. He's expected to have a banner 2026 campaign since Kevin Patullo is gone and Sean Mannion is in.

Smith had 77 receptions for 1,008 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns in 2025. The four TD receptions were a career low, but that numbers will probably be higher in 2026 since Brown and Patullo are gone.

Hurts has had seven different play callers over six-plus seasons as a pro. It will be fascinating to see how the Eagles' offense performs in 2026 with Mannion calling plays.

The Eagles open the 2026 season at home against the Washington Commanders.
